Today we went to the impressive Mezquita of Cordoba.  It is a huge and very old mosque, and it had a Christian church built inside of it! That's because the mosque was built by the Muslims in the 700s and then when the Christians took over the city they built a church right in the middle of the mosque! In the mosque the designs were so detailed.  They came up all on the roof and it had a a bunch of different statues. The church also had different statues including my favorite, a golden eagle! After the mosque/church we went to the botanical gardens. There were giant water fountains with gardens that had chunks of big grass coming so high! It was very nice! Tonight is the giant rivalry soccer game, Barcelona vs Madrid so of course after the gardens we found a square to go watch it in. The square was already packed and we were an hour early! Once everyone was settled in we noticed that half the crowd was cheering for Madrid and half the crowd were cheering for Barcelona (including us)! There was one super crazy guy who kept jumping in front of the screen when anyone scored and was swearing when Madrid scored and chucking his kid in the air and was so happy when Barcelona scored! In the end the score was 2-2 - a tie!!! They didn't have a tie breaker!!! I was hoping Barcelona had won but they didn't! After the game we came home and went to bed.
