More of Rome

Castel Sant'Angelo

Ponte Vittoria Emanuele II

Monster House!

Love
Greetings my people!!! Today mum took us on this huge walk in the city. Unfortunately, Tobin had a sore neck, so he stayed at the apartment and I just went with my parents!! Mum took us to this big long bridge with many statues on it that led us to this huge park.  We walked along the park until we got to a cafe and the worker there was so nice!!! They didn't have any chocolate croissants but he specially infused a croissant with chocolate just for me:}}}}}! We walked to a few squares with ancient statues in them and then went to this Nespresso store so mum and dad could get some coffee for our apartment. The workers at the Nespresso store were soooooooooo friendly! I loved how they gave us the wrong coffee on purpose and yelled at us and didn't help us. It was so nice of them!! Never will I return to a Nespresso store. Curse Nespresso around the world!! After that we went to this house with a door shaped like a monster that I thought was really rad! We continued walking to this really popular restaurant called "Eataly" and I got a salmon burger that I was sooooooo amazingly delicious! Right beside this restaurant was an old church with a creepy crypt. In the cellar there were walls covered with real skulls and bones of people and full skeletons stacked over top of each other!! It reminded me of the movie "Goonies" when they're in that cave!! Although we weren't allowed to take pictures, it was too fascinating not to so mum quickly tried to sneak a picture! Today was not her lucky day...the old creepy guard (or should I say witch?) saw her and got so mad and kicked her out of the building and said they have her on video tape taking the picture and said she could go to jail!!!!! The old scary lady was going crazy and I thought it was soooo hilarious!!!! She talked to dad and I after mum got kicked out and said, "Never take pictures. This is a very nice church," and I said, "Too bad we couldn't enjoy it" and then dad and I left!!!! Lololollolol #getroasted #getlit #getwrecked roast nation around the world!!!

At the flat we all rested for a bit and I watched some PLL (with my Buenos of course!). Dad said he was going to go for a walk to look at some restaurants and stuff so I went with him!! We went to this old slaughterhouse where they killed animals! Lovely! Well, now it's this art museum/place where bands perform. Dad and I went inside to explore and then realized this groovy reggae band we both liked was playing there tonight!! All the workers were getting set up for the concert and we just walked in and no one cared!! The gates opened at 7:00 pm to pay and go into the concert and we got there around 6:50 and just walked in!!! Technically we had snuck into this concert for free. Unfortunately it wasn't starting for a while and mum and Tobin didn't want us to go without them so we came home! What a shame! We had pasta at the house for dinner and Tobin and I did some beauty drawing contests where we would see who could draw people better (I think I won for my drawing of "Teacher Paul").

After that we went back to the Tiber River!!! (The place along the water with all the cool restaurants). We went back to our fave place were you could sit on the bean bags and watch the river and people go by!! Tobin and I ordered our classic favorite drink called "Love" and got french fries!!! The perfect combo!!!! Once we walked along the water and looked at the shops for a while, we came home pretty late and went to sleep!!!

A Day at the Seaside

Going to camp?!?!

The top of Janiculum hill

Rome at dusk
Guess what time we had to get up at today?!! 7 am!!!! It was for a very good reason though because we are going to a sports camp today!! It was pretty far away so we took the train to get there at 9:00! We were expecting it to be this huge camp with soccer and basketball and a dance room, with kids of all ages running around and having fun. But when we got there it wasn't exactly what we had in mind. The location was in the middle of nowhere and for a second I thought it was a juvie prison for kids!!! When we walked in there were a bunch of little kids under the age of 8 playing on skateboards. Although it was very scary and didn't look fun, Tobin and I agreed we would stay for a bit and check it out. What's the worst that could happen!? The staff was really nice and they made us feel welcomed!! All the young kids skateboarded for a veryyyyyyyy long time (2..3 years?) and then played some basketball!!! They also really love dancing so they did this huge hip hop dance circle which was really fun for me cuz I love to dance and I loved watching all the younger kids dance. Also we made teams of two for dance battles which was super funny and fun!! I pulled out my most beauty dance moves! The young kids were having lots of fun but Tobin and I were definitely ready to go!!! Dad and mum were at a beach nearby so they picked us up and brought us to the beach with them. But as soon as we sat down and got something to eat, of course all the campers and camp leaders arrived at the beach for a swim!!! If they were there, we thought we might as well swim with them! We swam around and made sand castles with the group. When they left the beach they went to go have lunch, and since we had already paid for lunch at the camp, we decided we might as well go eat it!!!! I swear we just couldn't get a break from these kids! After lunch (at 2:00 pm) mum and dad picked us up and we actually left for real and took the train home.

At home Tobin and I left right away to go grocery shopping!!!! Today we got even more tasty chocolates ;))))))! I love our trips to the grocery store!!!! Once we got home from getting groceries I had my trusty Buenos to accompany me while I watched two episodes of PLL!!

Later that evening, we walked up to this giant square at the very top of the Janiculum Hill to watch the sunset. The walk there was all uphill but very gorgeous...lots of ancient buildings, side streets and little parks. At the top of the hill you could see all of Rome while the sun set and in the middle of the square there was this huge, famous horse statue!

Back at the flat, the family had some pasta for dinner and watched Britain's Got Talent, which was hilarious!! Also Tobin and I finished our movie "Wild Child" and read for a bit before going to sleep!!

Goodnight my friends, creep it real-mimirockzzz King Julian.

Strange shopping in Rome

Treasure hunting at Porta Portese flea market
Today there is a HUMONGEOUS outdoor flea market going on at the end of our street. We got up and just chilled at our place for a little bit before walking over there. The market was the size of orchard park mall...put together three times. Every single street was crowed with antique items, clothes, pursues, home decor and vintage stuff. Endless tables of objects laid in front of us. We couldn't even make it to the end it was so big and we ended up getting lost quite a few times!!!!!!! One really cool thing about the market was there were these different tables with clothes from certain stores and one of the tables was from Brandy Melville!!! Everything from their whole store was put in piles on huge tables and it was on 5 euro for one clothing item!!! Talk about the best deal ever!!

After hitting up the giant market, we went home to get some lunch! We didn't really have any plans after lunch so I had planned for all of us to go to the mall and my family agreed! The only thing was it was a half hour taxi drive away, which would be pretty expensive, but they still said we could go! This was the worst. idea. EVER. I thought everyone would have a good time at the mall but all the stores were cheap and hot and stuffy and there was this really strong perfume that smelt bad and gave everyone a headache. No one even got anything so it was a waste of time and I felt so bad!! I dragged my family to a stupid, far-away shopping mall!!! It was seriously disturbing but at least we're laughing about it now!!!

Once we got home from the haunted mall, Dad and I went and got pizza for Tobin and I because dad and mum are going to a jazz show without us tonight. When they left, Tobin and I had our pizza, and then went out to the popular square near our house! Tobin played around with this clown dude blowing bubbles around (I watched from a far, far away distance). We got gelato from one of our favorite places called "Fatamorgana" and I got white chocolate flavor that tasted heavenly and actually had chunks of white chocolate in it!!
Once we were done our gelato, Tobin and I walked to on outdoor water fountain and filled up some water balloons we had!! We played target practice where I tried to hit Tobin with a water balloon from a certain distance away and vice versa. I sniped him quite a few times but he nailed some water balloons at me too. When we finished there was this homeless old gypsy lady close by who Tobin and I had visited the day before and she is honestly so sweet and when we gave her our change yesterday her face lit up like a Christmas tree so we just had to go and give her our change from the gelato! Watching her get so excited and blow us kisses made my day!!!

After that Tobin and I walked home and started watching a movie called "Wild Child" (one of my favs) then went to bed.

Tiber at night

Piazza Navona

This gelato place was amazing!

The Tiber River at night

Scored us some bean bags

Best spot for people watching
What's good my people?!! It's @mimirockzzz coming to you with more blog posts. Today we started off by walking to the Piazza Navona. I'm gonna have to say it was my favorite square we have been to. There were so many interesting sculptures that I love looking at!! We continued walking around Rome and saw a cute little boutique with so many amazing clothes. I got a shirt and shorts and an olive (eewyukckkcw olives) dress!!!! Oh yaaaa! I love walking around the streets of Rome. We got some sick homemade gelato that was so, so, so tasty. Well, I got this gelato bar with chocolate gelato covered in melted white chocolate-soooooo good ahhhh.

After exploring we came home but mum needed groceries so you know what that means!!! Grocery shopping...my favorite!!! Dad wanted to just go to the little grocery store but they didn't have all the stuff mum wanted so yes, yes that meant we had to go to the big amazing grocery store that I love!!! Dad was too lazy to go so Tobin and I went all by ourselves! We got everything that mum wanted....along with a lot of chocolate!!!!!!!

Back at the flat I watched 2 episodes of PLL (which is so good right now) before having dinner with the family that mum cooked. She made us soup and grilled cheese and salad!!!

After dinner we went to this outdoor huge market along the Tiber river with music and restaurants and stores.  It went under the bridge and all along the water! This was one of the coolest places I've ever been. It was all lit up like a carnival and walking along the river canal was magical. We stopped and got these fancy kid piƱa coladas and drank them on bean big chairs while we watched the river and people go by and just took in the magic around us. There was even this outdoor candy store that we went to!! Today was off the chainz.

Vatican City

Saint Peter's Basilica

Sneaked a pic of the Sistine Chapel

Villa Ada
Today started out so good because we got up nice and early to head to the Vatican City. OK...King Julien party people of the world if you are thinking “early” means like 11AM, you are WRONG, we were on our way by 8:30AM sharp! Since we got up so early there wasn't even that long of a lineup to wait in for St. Peters Basillica – one of the most impressive churches in the world. As soon as I walked through the doors I was thrilled to be able to look inside, but instead, the world famous sculptures and ornate decorations were replaced by........flashing lights :((( Migraine time! Even though my family kept asking me if it was ok I kept hoping it would go away and didn't want to ruin their experience so I just kept going on. Thankfully my dad got us VIP tickets to go into the Vatican museum and Sistine Chapel which let us skip the gigantic three-hour line up in the blazing sun which I simply could not have done. The whole story of the Last Judgment is a struggle between heaven and hell and let's just say I was definitely going more through the hell part! I am actually surprised that all the people in the Sistine Chapel didn't think we were filming an episode of the Walking Dead because that is what I looked and felt like. I couldn't even take my sunglasses off!!! From as much as I could see the museum and church seemed like something I would have really enjoyed. I did really love the last room we went into with the Last Judgment because everywhere you looked there was something going on in the paintings. All of the artwork was fascinating and well done and I am still thankful that I got to have this experience .....even with a migraine. As much as I would have liked to party on, the second I got home I crashed and fell asleep on the couch for 4 hours.

When I woke up it was already past 3PM! Mom made us some amazing tomato soup and we left around 5 o'clock to head out on our next adventure. The taxi took us to this totally isolated and not touristy area of town called Villa Ada. It was a flat hike in the forest that was very lush. We were thinking there was going to be lots of stuff to do there, but none of it had opened yet so all we could do is walk around in this forest for hours, but that is ok because I love to do that. I even took my family on one of my classic routes that I said would get us to the road, but I really had no idea where we were going and we ended up finding what we thought was a gang meeting so we had to backtrack. Dad and I explored a bit further but the trail just kept going on and Tobin was tired and just wanted to go back to the stage area where we were waiting to see Giorgio Moroder.

Back at the park we found this intriguing area with alot of workout stuff so we went to check it out. I worked out a bit with Tobin and then went and sat on the benches with mum and dad. While we were sitting there this crazy man released his inner spirit animal. He got down on his hands and feet and was running around like a crazy monkey in a circle. It killed me!!! Before the concert started there were a lot of gypsy stalls selling groovy stuff and I got a quality t-shirt that is my new favorite and will be premiered once I get home. The beginning act for the show took us down "Snoozeville Lane". Speaking of Snoozeville did I mention that the DJ that we were going to see is 74 years old??!! He played alot of disco songs from his era but I just grooved along with it in the big crowd. Mom and dad waited from afar but I got Tobin to come up near the front with me and we did a synchronized dance that I made up. After looking for a taxi for quite awhile, we finally made it back to our apartment super late and we just went to bed. Creep it real folks!! - mimirockzzz King Julian

Trastevere

Beautiful flowers outside Saint Cecilia Church

Kinda creepy?!?!

Cute side street in our neighbourhood

CORN gelato!!!
Today we explored our neighborhood, Trastevere, and chilled out at the flat. First we went to the Saint Cecilia Church, a church dedicated to a martyred 13 year old girl. I really enjoyed the flowers in front of it! We continued on our walk and stopped at this cafe for something to drink. Well, we were just going to get something to drink but then we realized they had french toast but it came with a big meal. We asked if we could have it with just french toast and they said “sure” but they ended up bringing us the whole meal with eggs and bacon and charging us way too much!! Next we went looking for a particular bridge but couldn't find it, although we did find an area of the river (Tiber) that is a big place to hang out at night. We will return! As we continued on with our long walk we stopped to get some delicious gelato at Fatamorgana. I bet you can't guess what flavour I got lolololololo!?! CORN!!! Exactly what I wanted! It actually was pretty good and hit the spot. At the house, PLL was waiting for me so I just had to watch two episodes. Once I was very satisfied from watching two delightful episodes I was ready to go back out again, but, you see, my family wasn't. Soooooo that meant I had to go off by myself. I will do whatever it takes to see the streets of Rome!

Classic rain outfit
I grabbed my headphones and embarked on my journey. I first started off exploring the area I knew but got sidetracked by all the stunning sights to see and just kept walking further and further. I even crossed the main bridge connecting two parts of towns. After crossing the bridge I was still feeling quite adventurous (even though I didn't know where I was) so I kept walking down the very charming side streets with lots of gorgeous things to look at like plants and vines along the wall and cute little shops. After two hours of walking, I decided it was time to try and find a way home. As some of you know, I am veryyyyyy good at telling directions (NOT). Luckily I had my trusty memory to guide me back to the bridge where I looked at the river for a long time before going to my flat. The whole time I was walking it was pretty cloudy and toward the end it started to lightening and dribble just a bit which made me feel like I was in a movie (I wish it started to pour tho). Of course as soon as I stepped in the door it did! This meant I had to go back out, bringing my brother with me. I put on my best rain storm attire and danced in the rain with my brother. Rain storms in Rome are my favorite!!

We came back in about 8PM and hung out a bit while Mom cooked dinner. For dinner she made us salmon, rice, carrots, and tomatoes – it was so so good! After dinner my family said we were just going to stay here for the rest of the night so it was time for more PLL. I had my loyal Bueno chocolates to accompany me that tasted heavenly because I am in love with Buenos. Then I went to bed!:) Adios and creep it real!----mimirockzzz. King Julian.

Rome

Taking a sip at the bottom of the Spanish Steps
Next time, Trevor, next time!

The Pantheon

Mystic light and hordes of people inside the Pantheon
First day in Rome, ladies and gentlemen!!!! We got up and had breakfast, then embarked on our journey!!!!!!! First off we went to the Spanish Steps. Well, actually we wanted to go there but the bus route was so confusing!!!! We ended up accidentally going to the Piazza Venezia where there was this humongous church that you had to walk up over 100 steps to get to. Inside the church there were so many hanging crystal chandeliers!! The singer "Sia" would've loved it! (Get it cuz she sings that song, haha!) Also the view from outside the church was stellar!!!!! I loved seeing all the little side streets connecting together!! So let me just say that Rome is the hottest place in the whole entire world. I felt like I was walking on the sun it was so hot out!!!! We finally ended up taking a taxi to the Spanish Steps!! The Spanish Steps themselves weren't that interesting to me because they just looked like stairs (which I've seen before in my life) and it wasn't like there was a good view at the top!!!! I really did like the water fountain at the bottom though. I got a refreshing drink from there! Next we walked to the Trevor Fountain. On the way we stopped at this really popular homemade gelato place. It had meringue gelato!!! Can you believe that?!!?! I love meringue so much so I cried when they had it in a homemade gelato flavor!!! It was so amazing! There were these crunchy bits of meringue marshmallow in it and it was so gooey and creamy!! We continued on to Trevor Fountain but once we got there, we were very disappointed!! It was under construction so we weren't allowed in!!!! I guess we'll just have to come back to Rome another time lololol! We stopped at this super cool magic shop as we walked to our next location! The guy inside basically gave us own free magic show!!! He showed us all his best tricks and we even bought one! Next we went to the Pantheon and it is incredible!!! There was a huge circular hole in the ceiling that let light shine through and lit up the whole church! After exploring for a while we came home for a break because it was way too hot out. As soon as we got home I left again with dad to go to the grocery store!!! MY FAVORITE!!! This grocery store was the biggest and best yet and I picked out a lot of great treats!! We got so many groceries and then had to carry them all home in the hot heat. Waiting for us at home was delicious soup made by mum. Yum yum!! Also at home I watched two episodes of PLL and Tobin and I worked on our magic trick which we then presented for mum and dad later. Every single night a square near our house plays a movie in it for free. Over a hundred people just go sit in the square and watch it so we went too! They were playing "The Grand Budapest Hotel" but it was in Italian so we didn't stay that long. For dinner we walked to this groovy restaurant. They played funky music and all the waiters kept dancing. It was very fun! After that we came home and went to sleep!! Creep it real to all-mimirockzzz king Julian

My heart will go on...

The whole crew

Our flat in Rome

Street life, Travestere, Rome

Street life, Travestere, Rome
Nononono! I have to leave Franco today :( You may think this is where our love story ends, but my love will never stop growing for Franco. My heart will always go on. We are just two star-crossed lovers finding their place in this world. Franco is like a star, I may not always see him but I know he's there, pondering for our love. Love is like the wind, you can't see it but you can feel it. ANYWAYSSSS...before leaving we played one more ultimate game of dodgeball. One of the best games ever! It was a classic team of me, Tobin, Franco and Andreas VS everyone else from Poland!!!!! Strangely enough, the other team ended up winning!!! It was very sad saying goodbye to all our friends. They are all such amazing people that I will never forget. I even cried when I had to leave Franco. We drove back to the train station and then took a two-hour train to....ROME!!! We arrived in Rome around 3:00 pm and took a taxi to our apartment. Our apartment is the best place ever!!! I'm so happy and feel so lucky that we are living here for 10 days!!!! The owner of it is an author so he had a huge library and basically his own movie theater!!!! Think of any movie and he has it on DVD (along with his 3 flat screen TVs) and he has so many great TV shows!!!! Also he has a huge Mac computer with all my favorite TV shows all it!!!!! I rushed to the computer and watched three episodes of Pretty Little Liars and one of them was the season finale and special Halloween episode!! Note to friends: they didn't have the Vampire Diaries so I couldn't watch it:((( and I'm saving Teen Wolf until I get back!!!! After watching some quality episodes I had dinner. It was leftover pasta from last night that was still so good and I just had to make myself three peanut butter sandwiches because there was WHITE BREAD!!!! Mum and dad were going out to get something to drink and I wanted to explore so I went with them. We walked around and I am in love with the streets of Rome. At night they are all lit up with lights and there are plants covering the walls and vines all along the wall, hanging from rooftop to rooftop above our heads. We sat down in a lively square where a comedian show in Italian was going on. That's the great thing about Italy - there's something happening on almost every block! After exploring our neighborhood and just walking about, we can home and went to bed. Stay tuned for many more beauty posts coming your way and creep it real-mimirockzz.

Terme di Saturnia

Natural hot baths!

The water was so clear and beautiful

So much fun!
Yayyyy! This morning dad and I went to the grocery store!!!! I am obsessed with with grocery stores all around the world! When we got home from shopping, we had breakfast with all the groceries we got!!! I had a peach, three pieces of toast with jam, scrambled eggs and...juice. I also am obsessed with juice!!!!

Today mom and dad are taking us away from our villa to go to some natural hot baths in Saturnia!!! Before we left I quickly hopped into the pool for a swim!! I met a family from Holland (Vince, aged 12, and his parents!). I just joined their family and played Monkey in the Middle. When Tobin came, I introduced him to them and we all played Colours in the pool.  It was very fun! Even the crazy Dutch dad played which was funny!!

After swimming and lunch we left to the natural hot baths. The drive there was 2 hours on a long and twisty road!!!! I just listened to music and looked at the beautiful rolling hills of Tuscany. Once we got there I couldn't believe my eyes!!!!! All I could see was crystal clear mini waterfalls overlapping each other! And as soon as you stepped in, you were greeted by hot, not cold, water!! They were all natural hot springs that were so fascinating! We swam around and relaxed in them for an hour or so, then drove home.

On the drive home mum and dad wanted to stop at a winery except we didn't really know how to get in. So this gate was opening and we decided we would go through it!!! Except once we got inside the gate closed behind us and locked us in!!! We still thought maybe we were at the right place so we walked down these stairs. We were right in the middle of the humongous production center storing all the wine. A man on a zamboni told us we were definitely not in the right place! So we walked back up the stairs and continued down the parking lot (where he said to go) and it was just this huge parking lot with cars and cellars of wine so we STILL weren't in the right place. We ended up just going into the only place we saw with an office and the guy told us that the gate only opened for employees, and this wasn't where we had to go and he had to unlock the gate to let us out!! Finally mum and dad made it to the right place and Tobin and I kept stealing breadsticks there!

At home just Franco and I played together: soccer, BS and UNO! We are really taking our relationship to the next level!! For dinner mum made pasta that was so good and I had the most amazing ice cream bar for dessert! After dinner we went back outside to play. Tobin and I played UNO with Franco and his brother Andrea, and an Italian boy name Alberto and the crazy kid from Holland named Vince that we met in the pool this morning. Let's just say it was the funnest game of UNO I had ever played in my life. Also we played dodgeball again! All the Polish kids came out and we had all the kids from earlier today so it was 5 vs 5. This was also the funnest game of dodgeball I had ever played in my life!!!!! We all played dodgeball until midnight! After an adventurous day and very fun night we went to bed. This villa is the best!

Future husband
Ahh...the pool!

Today we play, play, play!!! We have so many amazing friends here that I never want to leave. For example, there's a 99% that Franco and I are getting married!!!! We played BS with Franco and it was very funny because he would say he had seven cards with a 4 on them but that's impossible because there are only four cards of one number in a deck!  It was obvious he was lying...but it was very funny to watch though!! Oh yes I also read for hours today and finished my book "Where Things Come Back". It was a 10/10. I highly enjoyed it! Tobin and I did some beaut-tastic aerobics too!!! We did a hardcore ab workout!!! Well actually Tobin did it and I just laughed at him and made up my own Mimi workout...classic! I did do some soothing yoga though and a poodle workout (you know that video of poodles working out...very disturbing). After our "workout" I was greeted by homemade soup by mom, her same recipe from home that is the best thing ever!!!!! The soup warmed the icy depths of my soul. I also swam in the pool today and Franco's other brother (Davide) come to visit so Tobin and I played UNO with them and Franco's other brother, Andrea! Behind our house are these majestic orchards and vineyards and ponds just screaming to be explored!! Since mum and dad were on a wine tour and Tobin didn't want to come with me, I explored them by myself! I saw an amazing view of endless vineyards and I ran through all of them and got a bit lost in the orchards because I wandered off so far but that's ok because I always find a way home! After dinner (which was leftovers) all the kids played dodgeball! Basically we just take a soccer ball and make a line in the middle of the grass and have one team on each side and then throw the soccer ball at each other! Tobin and I played along with Franco and his two brothers and the four kids from Poland, so there was nine of us all together! It's always fun to just hang out and play with all our new friends. I'm so glad we met them, especially Franco, my husband! Stay tuned and creep it real-mimirockzzz.

Hanging out at the villa

Playing cards with Chloe and Skylar

More cards with Franco and Andreia
This morning I got up and headed straight to the pool with Tobin. I read my book while Tobin swam in the pool. The book is called "Where Things Come Back" and it's fantastic!  We hung out at the pool for a bit until Chloe and Skylar came out. On Tobin's iPad we watched hilarious vines with them and then played cards!! They taught us fun games like Slapjack and President. Unfortunately they were leaving this morning so they had to go :(. But luck was on our side because they got a flat tire!!! At least it's lucky for us!! So while the parents fixed their tire we got to play more cards!! Once they left we hung around with Franco and Andreia (they live here) until our parents finally came back with food!!!!!!!!!!! Yes! I was so hungry I had three peanut butter sandwiches-myyyyy favorite!! After eating all that food I was just so tired (eating is tiring) so I took a nap for three hours. Ugh, life is hard. After awakening from my delightful nap, I went straight to the pool where the rest of my family were with Franco!! I went swimming with them for a bit and then me, Tobin Franco and Andreia (they are brothers) played! We played UNO and 2 vs 2 dodgeball. It was all so much fun and I am in love with Franco.  It was love at first site!!!!!!! He is the most awesome dude in the world and he will always be in my heart until the day I die (he's 11)! For dinner we had a tasty BBQ at our villa. We had green beans (my faves), potatoes (my other fave) and fishhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! Yum yum yummmmmmmm!!! After dinner Franco said fireflies usually came out so we went into the vineyards to go see them!!!! Unfortunately we only saw dead ones glowing on the ground!!! We did see a few frogs though! Once we got back new guests had arrived!! They are from Poland (Laura and Shoosha aged 10, Casper aged 11, Kuba aged 5)! Tobin and I played soccer with them along with Franco (my husband) for a bit before heading to sleep!

Welcome to Tuscany

David!

The living room in our villa

Whipping it up on stage in Montepulciano
Like I mentioned in my last blog, we got up nice and early to go to the Accademia Museum to see Michaelangelo's David. It was so fascinating! I loved all the different old sculptures in the museum, and I was so intrigued by the different art work! When it was time to leave I didn't want to go because I just wanted to keep looking at the art as if I was hypnotized! After the museum we stopped at a cafe for breakfast. I had the most a delicious chocolate croissant ever!!!! There was cocoa covering the top and it melted in your mouth (if that's possible) along with the chocolate. We then left our apartment and Florence and took the train to Tuscany. On the train I got a super bad migraine:(((((. Ahhhhh....migraines suck so bad! I couldn't even see anything and it felt like assassins were taking over my head and stabbing their most deadly weapons into my brain!!!! Once our stuffy, two-hour, hot sauna train arrived in Tuscany we were gonna pick up our car. But you see, the problem was our train arrived at 12:56 and the car place closed for lunch at 1:00 and didn't open again until 3:30!! Of course our train got in late, so we missed getting our car! This meant we had to just wait outside the train for almost three hours and I still had my migraine!! I just laid down on the marble bench and tried to sleep the whole time. So many Italian men were coming up and asking me if I needed help. They are so nice!!!!!!!!! Once we finally got our car, dad drove along the beautiful rolling hills and farmland until we got to our villa in Tuscany. Our villa is located in the hills outside of a little village called Montepulciano. We are surrounded by vineyards and there are a few other villas here with other people. We even have our own pool up here and a techno gym!! Finally my migraine was decent enough for me to think straight so once we got here I went swimming! I met two new girls (Skylar, aged 13 and Chloe, aged 16) from Washington, DC!! I swam and played in the pool with them and we instantly became friends. They are so nice!! Also the two younger Italian boys who live here are awesome!! One of them (Franco, aged 11) speaks English and is crazy!!! He drops spicy hot mixed tapes and loves rapping! I was automatically in love!!!!!!!!!! We played soccer with all our new friends until dinner! For dinner we went into the village and just stopped at the first cheap place we saw because we were so tired and hungry. It wasn't that good but that's ok, at least we something to eat!! We got home and I was going to try and find fireflies but I was way too tired!! Oh well, tomorrow!!!!! Stay tuned for more posts and creep it real-mimirockzzz king Julian.

Exploring Florence

View of the Ponte Vecchio from the top of the mountain

The beautiful garden restaurant
I started the day off getting up and trying to get tickets for the Accademia Museum with dad so we could go see Michaelangelo's sculpture of David. When we got there we realized that they needed to see both Tobin and I to prove we were actually our age! So we went home and got Tobin. While dad waited in line, Tobin and I went to get smoothies. I ordered a mango smoothie but I don't think they understood what I meant because they just threw the whole mango into the blender and blended it!!!!!! Lolololol! When I got it, there were green chunks floating in it and it was inedible!! So the lady made me a new strawberry, banana smoothie that I was very happy with! We ended up just getting the museum tickets for tomorrow morning. After that the whole family left to go to a food market. At the market Tobin and I both got lost so many times!!!! There were so many people and so many corners to turn that if one of us just stopped and looked at something, the rest would be gone! I ended up getting fish and chips to eat for lunch after a long time trying to decide what to eat! We walked back to our flat and had a little bit of a rest before heading out to see the inside of the huge Duomo. Unfortunately the outside was so detailed and stunning that the inside wasn't that good compared to it (it was still decent)!! Then we walked around the squares a little bit and just explored the beautiful city of Florence! I need to remind you that it is honestly so hot in Florence, it's hard to walk. We don't even need ice cream because we are walking human ice cream cones!!! The more time we spend outside, the more we melt into the ground!!!! Since it was so unbelievably hot out, we had to take another little rest at our house before dinner! Before dinner we went up to the very top of Florence and watched the sunset from the Piazzale Michaelangelo. You could see the gorgeous Ponte Vecchio bridge and all the little houses as the sun lit up the sky with different colours of orange and red. For dinner we went to this magical outdoor restaurant where you sat in the garden. I loved the place so much! There were lanterns all strung up, a little field in behind where you could run around, and comfy couches to sit on. I was really excited because my parents ordered this appetizer dish that came with cantaloupe that I absolutely loved and this really good fried bread!!!!!!!! We then walked home and went to bed.

Lovely Florence

The Duomo at night
Trains, trains, trains!! Today we had to take a lot of trains!!!! We got up early to catch our first train and then just kept taking them until we got to....the Leaning Tower of Pisa!!!! Legit the real thing!! The real deal!! It was insane! Let me tell you, people aren't just exaggerating. It really does lean to one side! We climbed up so many stairs (around 350) to get to the top. The marble stairs were even worn down and indented from so many people walking up them for so many years! At the top you could see all the beautiful churches and statues surrounding the tower! And what's that I hear? My fans calling my name?!!!! I just HAD TO make a video playing my recorder in front of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. I owed it to myself, and my fans!! I got a lot of funny looks from people walking by!!
To get to the Leaning Tower of Pisa we had to take this bus that was so busy we were packed liked sardines! Someone even tried to steal dad's wallet (good thing that didn't happen)! Thankfully, the bus back to the train station was way better. Back at the train station we waited for our next train to show up that would take us to Florence. While we were waiting there was this one train that was sooooooo packed, people were falling out!! The doors were trying to close but they couldn't, there were too many people!!! It was very entertaining to watch! When our final train arrived in Florence, we walked with all our luggage to our apartment! We got there at 4:30, and the man to let us in wasn't coming until 5:00 so Tobin and I went off and explored all the little shops around us! Our apartment is so nice! Our balcony has the best view of the Duomo!!! I couldn't believe that it was right in front of us!! Also a fact about Florence - it's so scorching hot here!! It feels like you're walking in a sauna so the AC in our apartment was heavenly.
We rested a little bit before going out to see the sunset on a stunning bridge in Florence. The setting was a 10 out of 10. For dinner we went out to this really good pasta restaurant and I got homemade long noodles with yummy cheese and pepper sauce. In the square there was this little boy who was so cute. He had this bow and arrow he kept shooting and he would do these funny dance moves that would kill me! Also there was this photographer doing a photoshoot in the square and, of course, she asked to take pictures of me because I'm a beauty model!! Well actually she wanted to get pictures of anyone who asked but still she got some bruiser pictures of just me!
On the walk home we stopped and got this homemade gelato that was so so so good!! I got this white chocolate, cinnamon flavour that was amazing. We also stopped and went on this ancient carousel that was very slow but still fun!!! At the apartment I read my book for a bit on the patio with our spectacular view before going to bed!!
Stay tuned for my NEW modelling pics and creep it real-mimirockzzz King Julian trololol!

So much to love!

The amazing sunsets!!!
Manarola at dusk
I love pasta!
Chill out day today!!! We woke up and got free breakfast again, my fav!!! After breakfast we went down to the ocean and swam around. I saw lots of schools of fish in the water and I had to make sure the path was clear of jellyfish for Tobin (cuz he's really scared of them)! After swimming for a few hours I got a Nutella crepe. It was AMAZING! The crepes are spectacular here!!!! Also mum and I went and looked at the stores and I got a new pair of flip flops because mine broke:(! Back at the hotel room I read my book. I probably read for almost two hours! I even finished my book (It's called TTYL. I know my friends know it, it's a beauty)!!! When I finished my book I really wanted to go out and go cliff jumping! Yesterday I did the 20 foot jump and today I wanted to do the 25 foot jump!! Tobin and I both climbed to the top and checked it out!! As soon as I got up there it looked crazy high!!! But I just closed my eyes and jumped and I felt like I was soaring in the sky before smacking the water. It was sort of painful...! Mom and dad walked over to the private beach (but I like the one with the cliffs better) and Tobin went back to the room. I just swam around by myself with all the jellyfish (I'm surprised I didn't get stung!) and went swimming with my beloved goggles (I am in a relationship with my goggles. I love them so much)! Swimming in the ocean and looking at all the fish and sea life is so fun. I wish I was a mermaid! I also sat at the top of the cliff and watched the sun sparkle and dance on the water and talked to other people at the beach who were traveling. After swimming around for a bit and meeting a few new people from around the world, I went back to the hotel and took a shower. Dad and I went out to the point and watched the sunset. I am in love with the sunsets here!! They are beyond beautiful. Every time they blow my mind more!! Then the family went out for a late dinner a few doors down from our hotel. Of course I ordered pasta and it was THE BEST pasta I have ever had in my whole entire life. The waitress walked out with this plate overflowing with spaghetti with tomato sauce and I just dug in. Slurp, slurp, slurp (mmmmm slurp something to drink)!! Our Italian friends were playing out in the square again so we went out and played with them after dinner. Today we taught them how to say, "You are very sexy" in English. They thought it was soooooo funny and they kept going up to random people and saying it! I love Italian kids!!! We also played hide and go seek and I was it with this little 4 year old boy named "Louie" who was so unbelievably cute!! He kept saying, "Follow me, stay with me, we are friends" in Italian and I almost melted!!! After that we came home and went to bed as it was late. We stayed out and played with the kids in the square until almost midnight!!

Mudslide Madness!!!

A different view of Manarola
This is supposed to be fun?!?!
Vernazza marina
Although we had to get up a little bit early this morning, it was for a good reason. FREE BREAKFAST!!!! Free food is my favourite thing in the whole entire world. It's all free and you can eat as much as you want of it!!! After wolfing down so much food and stuffing my pockets with biscuits, it was time to set out on our hike. Our hike consisted of hiking to ALL THE TOWNS!! We were all set out to hike along the water but when we got there the path was closed because of a mud slide in 2011! This meant we had to climb up the mountain! The uphill part of the hike felt like it was never gonna end. Endless stairs and steep hills kept coming our way and I felt like I was gonna pass out!! A man even came up to me and asked if I needed some of his water! I said yes but then dumped it all over my head!! Once we eventually made it to the flat part is was unbelievable. All you could see was the never ending ocean and little villages in the distance. Around us were grapevines and vineyards, we even walked through gardens. Very terrorist! I'd never been on hike where it went so quickly from vineyards....to cacti! After around two hours we arrived in the first little town, Corniglia. Dad got us pesto cheese bread to eat so we could move onto the next village! By this time it was getting very hot out and I was scratching the inside of my ear with the end of my sunglasses but I tripped and fell and the arm of the glasses went shooting up my ear. I swear it sliced my brain or something, it hurt so much!! So now I was dying of heat and my ear was killing me!! But I continued on with the uphill hike with the encouragement from my mum! Once we finally made it up the rest of the hill, we stopped at this cafe overlooking the whole ocean and got a lemonade slush drink. The rest of the hike was easy and enjoyable, all down hill!!! The last village we got to, called Vernazza, had a marina where we could swim! I basically booked it into the water as soon as we got there! Cooling off in the water felt like a breath of fresh air!! Definitely what I needed! After a bit of swimming Tobin and I were pretty hungry so Dad gave us some money to get food. First we got kinder surprise (yes, you heard that correctly) ice cream!!! I didn't even know that was a real thing?!!! Soooooooooo good. We were still hungry after that so we went to this restaurant where you went up to the counter and picked out what you liked! Tobin and I said we just wanted French fires and only French fries and the guy said ok!! But when he filled up our box he started being crazy and making these weird faces and throwing in zucchini and these weird balls!! We ate just the fries and gave the rest to mum and dad, saying it was a present!!!! They were very confused but we ran away before they could say anything! Tobin and I were STILL hungry after this and disturbed from the zucchini fries so we just gave up and bought a pizza!!! It hit the spot and was delicious. After this we took the ferry home. At the house we were just chilling but I wanted to go cliff jumping except no one wanted to come. Mum agreed that I could go look at it and see if I wanted to do it but NO JUMPING. I got there and met two new friends, a German guy in college who came here with his new wife, and a woman who teaches grade 9 PE teacher from California! Us three went up the top and agreed we would jump the 20 feet jump if we all did it. I explained to them I wasn't allowed because my mum wasn't there but I would cheer them on! First the German guy went and then the PE teacher went. So there I was sitting at the top by myself after they had jumped when these three good-looking Italian men in their 20s came up. They thought I was just waiting and was nervous to go so they started saying "Easy, easy, easy". (That's the only English they knew). And I said "Yes, it looks easy!" So then they started saying "You jump, you can do it." I tried to say I wasn't allowed but they didn't speak English!! The next thing I know they started counting down from ten!! I look down and my two friends from earlier were waiting in the water at the bottom and they were cheering me on too!!! Once the Italian men got to one I just jumped!!!!! It was the best moment ever and I didn't get into too much trouble afterwards....! For the rest of the night mum and dad went out for dinner but Tobin and I didn't since we already ate dinner. We just went out into the square and met some new Italian friends! They didn't speak English but we played hide and go seek with them! After this we came home and went to bed!
