Trastevere

Beautiful flowers outside Saint Cecilia Church

Kinda creepy?!?!

Cute side street in our neighbourhood

CORN gelato!!!
Today we explored our neighborhood, Trastevere, and chilled out at the flat. First we went to the Saint Cecilia Church, a church dedicated to a martyred 13 year old girl. I really enjoyed the flowers in front of it! We continued on our walk and stopped at this cafe for something to drink. Well, we were just going to get something to drink but then we realized they had french toast but it came with a big meal. We asked if we could have it with just french toast and they said “sure” but they ended up bringing us the whole meal with eggs and bacon and charging us way too much!! Next we went looking for a particular bridge but couldn't find it, although we did find an area of the river (Tiber) that is a big place to hang out at night. We will return! As we continued on with our long walk we stopped to get some delicious gelato at Fatamorgana. I bet you can't guess what flavour I got lolololololo!?! CORN!!! Exactly what I wanted! It actually was pretty good and hit the spot. At the house, PLL was waiting for me so I just had to watch two episodes. Once I was very satisfied from watching two delightful episodes I was ready to go back out again, but, you see, my family wasn't. Soooooo that meant I had to go off by myself. I will do whatever it takes to see the streets of Rome!

Classic rain outfit
I grabbed my headphones and embarked on my journey. I first started off exploring the area I knew but got sidetracked by all the stunning sights to see and just kept walking further and further. I even crossed the main bridge connecting two parts of towns. After crossing the bridge I was still feeling quite adventurous (even though I didn't know where I was) so I kept walking down the very charming side streets with lots of gorgeous things to look at like plants and vines along the wall and cute little shops. After two hours of walking, I decided it was time to try and find a way home. As some of you know, I am veryyyyyy good at telling directions (NOT). Luckily I had my trusty memory to guide me back to the bridge where I looked at the river for a long time before going to my flat. The whole time I was walking it was pretty cloudy and toward the end it started to lightening and dribble just a bit which made me feel like I was in a movie (I wish it started to pour tho). Of course as soon as I stepped in the door it did! This meant I had to go back out, bringing my brother with me. I put on my best rain storm attire and danced in the rain with my brother. Rain storms in Rome are my favorite!!

We came back in about 8PM and hung out a bit while Mom cooked dinner. For dinner she made us salmon, rice, carrots, and tomatoes – it was so so good! After dinner my family said we were just going to stay here for the rest of the night so it was time for more PLL. I had my loyal Bueno chocolates to accompany me that tasted heavenly because I am in love with Buenos. Then I went to bed!:) Adios and creep it real!----mimirockzzz. King Julian.
