A very busy Monday

Xao came to the sloth garden to say hello

Our three-armed sloth is on walkabout!
This is Lola.  She always says, "Hola Guapa!"
Today Star was at the center again. Before she came though I went with my mom to feed the sloth in isolation, but it wasn't there! We asked Nadja where she was and she said unfortunately it was really sick and she died :(! Ankar (the zoologist) had to do an autopsy to see what was wrong. They noticed when they cut her open she also had a baby :(! It was so sad. Besides that when they were taking the three-armed sloth for a walk he climbed up a really tall tree in the forest and wouldn't come down! So they said just to release him and he was ready to leave the center and be in the wild! Also one of the older monkeys, Conga, who had just been released a year ago, came back and....... had a new born baby! The baby just hung on to the mama's stomach and then they left. Conga basically came back to show us her baby! There was so much going on today! We even got a new animal at the center. An anteater was attacked by a dog and got his whole back leg cut up and bloody! When Star and I were watching the animals in the sloth garden it starting raining so hard and we has to take almost all the animals back to their cages except for the agouti, Poldo and Stanley.  They are okay to get wet, but the sloths can get hypothermia if they get too cold! Stanley was all curled up in his blanket and had fallen asleep on my lap. Most of the sloths got soaked though because we didn't even know that we had to put them away!  Poor guy! After a long day at work we bought some mamon chino (these delicious tropical fruits that look like EOS lip balm) from the truck outside the center and then we walked home. At the house we just had rice and beans for dinner and hung out with Heiner until it was time to go to bed.
