Baby spider monkey!

This morning we got up at 6:30 to go on a boat ride though the smaller canals. Boating in the canals we saw howler monkeys, white-faced monkeys, caimans and a Jesus Christ lizard. The Jesus Christ lizard was on a log in the water so when we moved it we got to see the Jesus Christ lizard walk across water! After our boat ride we came back to the cabins and I had a bunch of pancakes for breakfast. Then Laura took us on a hike though the muddy jungle in Tortuguero National Park. There was a big troop of spider monkeys and we got to see all of them! Later on we had to take the two hour boat ride back to the port and saw even more animals, including a spider monkey with its baby on its stomach! It was so tiny and so adorable! Then we had to take a three hour van ride on this very bumpy and rocky dirt road. We stopped at our pit stop and got on a different van to get to our lodge in La Fortuna, Arenal Oasis Ecolodge. It was late when we got in so we had some spaghetti there and just stayed at our cabin until bedtime.
