Hi there;))!!!!! Can you believe it's our last day in Rome today?!!! I for sure cannot!!! We started off the day by going to this used English book store. Unfortunately, I didn't see any books I liked but there was a really great cafe next door where I got a chocolate croissant!! After the book store, we walked up a huge hill to get to this keyhole lookout. When you looked in the tiny keyhole you saw all these vineyards and trees making a pathway where you could see the duomo of a very small Saint Peter's Basilica!! It was like an alter universe you were looking at! Like in the movie "Coraline" where she looked through that square, sage-green stone and saw all those ghost children!!! You know what I'm talking about!!???
After that we walked down the hill until we got the cutest little outdoor cafe ever!!! It was surrounded by all these beautiful purple flowers and palm trees!! This cafe definitely holds the new record for "longest wait for drinks to come". It took them 45 minutes just to bring us an orange juice. I thought it was hilarious!!! Knowing the restaurants in Italy, someone will beat them soon!!!
We then continued walking to this old, stunning cemetery. The cemetery was in this huge shaded, lush garden with hundreds of gravestones. We even saw Mary Shelley's gravestone which is the original woman who wrote "Frankenstein". So many of the graveyards had beautiful statues on them and, I would say, the giant cemetery would have to be one of the most gorgeous in the whole entire world!!!!
After exploring the cemetery we went home for a break. So there I was, just coloring at our apartment and I looked out the window and it was RAINING!!!! I love rain sooooo much - I was automatically filled with bursting excitement!! I grabbed my rain coat, umbrella and slipped on my crazy, classic, patterned rainboots!!! I walked in the rain by myself to my favorite gelato place near our house called "Fatamorgana" and I got white chocolate ice cream. Mmmmmm...it was so good. I can still taste it in my mouth!!! With my gelato in hand, I went for the best walk ever in the rain, all through my neighborhood!! Strangely enough, I think the rain made all the little squares, statues and side streets even more beautiful. When it rains in Rome, it is unbelievably pretty, like something out of a movie!!! Once I finished my peaceful yet crazy adventure walk by myself, I walked back home.
Back at the house mum and dad had just left to go to this cheese bar place before dinner by themselves. Tobin and I went for a walk to this very popular square to look for a birthday present for mum!!! We ended up getting her a very special gemstone ring and chocolates with two cards that we both made for her. Don't worry...she's already opened her gifts so she knows what we got her!!!!! Once mum and dad came back all of us then went back to the Tiber river tonight for the third time - our favorite place!!! On the way walk there we passed the old homeless nonna and dad said I could give her 20 euro!!!!!! She started crying when we gave it her and freaking out. It was so heart-warming and made my day!!! I will miss this sweet homeless lady so much. Can you guess what we had to eat at the Tiber?? French fries and our favorite drink "Love" while sitting on the bean bags while the river flowed by. Too good to be true!! We also got these amazing cheese quesadillas with rice from a Mexican restaurant. Aribaaaa!! Soon we walked home and I had one final sleep at my favorite apartment.
Creep it real everyone-mimirockzzz king Julian
