| There it is, people. A ONE METER LONG PIZZA!!! |
Yo yo yo my people!!! This morning we had to get up very early to leave Ischia :{. But you know what getting up early means!!!!! First people at breakfast! And you know what first people at breakfast means!!! All the Nutella crepes I wanted!!!!!!!!!! After filling up on many crepes and much more of the treasures they had at breakfast, we left on the ferry to Naples. On the ferry I read a good chunk of my book before going onto the train. The train was quiet at first but then became soooooo crowded as we reached our stop. I was happy to get off!!!
Once we arrived in Vico Equense (and my suitcase got jammed in the rotating door to leave the train station!) we were a little bit confused on how to get to our hotel. We decided to just follow the simple road (the only paved one we saw) and eventually we would get there!! We walked and walked down the busy road with all our luggage as cars constantly zoomed by (semi lane!!!). Mum's phone said we were right at our destination but all we could see was this weird old folks place. Definitely not where we were staying...I hoped!!! Actually that would've been fun!! Luckily there was an old man out front who told us our villa was at the very top of the of the hill past all these stairs and locked gates!! The nice old man called our hotel and they came and got us and picked us up in their car with all our luggage!! Once in the car we started up this tiny, shrimpy, narrow, one-way road. If another car came the other way it would be IMPOSSIBLE to get out - you would have to drive backwards! There were so many sharp corners we kept taking...the lady driver from our hotel was going serious hardcore car parkour on this dirt road. I still don't know how she (or anyone) drives up and down this crazy dirt road everyday!!
At our villa we greeted by a friendly granny who brought us this whole plate of home baked treats!! I immediately went for the Nutella cake!! It was so deliciously delicious, I just can't get over how amazing they are. It's like a shortbread cookie cake with Nutella inside. The grandma said we get them at breakfast too and I cried!! I look forward to seeing these in the future!!
The place we are staying at, Villa Ketty, is INSANE!! It's the definition of paradise!!! There's an amazing pool and it overlooks the Mediterranean sea and the whole town of Vico Equense. It's the best view ever!! Also the family that runs that place is so nice and our villa is huge - two stories!! I read my book and played with some British kids in the pool at our place for a long time!!!!!!!!
In the evening, we got driven back into town down the narrow road again and went to dinner at the restaurant run by the family who runs our villa!! At the restaurant a miracle happened. I. Ordered. A. One. Meter. Long. Pizza. Yes, you heard that right. ONE METER LONG PIZZA!! It was the biggest pizza I had ever seen and it tasted SUPERIOR!!! My dreams turned into a reality at that restaurant. We continued walking in the town and there was a little professional soccer march going on so we watched that for a bit. Also, we stopped at this gelato place and I got brownie flavored gelato. They dumped candied hazelnuts all over the top and it added this spectacular crunch to my brownie ice cream - just like sprinkles!! On the walk home we walked past an art gallery that was closed but I looked through the window and I saw a LABYRINTH POSTER and I freaked out!! I love Labyrinth so I am going to definitely check that out tomorrow!!!!
After we walked up the dirt road (no car this time!) and to our villa, I read more of my book and headed off to sleep, ready to dream of meter long pizzas and wake up to Nutella cakes! CREEP IT REAL TO ALL-mimirockzzz KiNg JUliaN party people of the world!!!!!!!!
