Ciao my friends!!! Ok...so you know how they had a SPECTACULAR breakfast at the last place we stayed?!! Well, it was nothing compared to the breakfast here!!! I swear this place could be world wide famous for their breakfast. My mind was blown!!!! They had a FULL NUTELLA cake, sweet lemon cupcakes, creamy almond lemon shortbread and all different types of homemade bakery treats!!! Along with that there was a whole table of strawberries, peaches, plums and more fruit that they grow right here at the villa!!! There were farm fresh eggs (we could see the chickens), homemade bread, different types of local cheeses, meat and cereal!!! Of course I had some of everything and LOTS of Nutella cake - my new favorite thing!!
After the best breakfast ever, we left to go to Pompeii today!! Pompeii is a very famous ancient ruin. It started as a town that got covered by volcanic ash in 79 AD (almost 2000 years ago!!) but then in 1748 it got dug up and was in surprisingly good condition!! The town and some of the people got preserved by the ash! At Pompeii it was so interesting to see the broken down, historic town. The only bad thing about Pompeii was that it was SO HOT. Although I wanted to enjoy what was around me, I couldn't even think straight because of the pounding heat!!!!! One thing I thought was super fascinating about Pompeii was how the bodies actually stayed there all those years and got preserved by the volcanic ash. Now they are wrapped in this clay stuff so you can actually see the bodies and what they looked like when they died (except they're wrapped in cement clay stuff so you can't see their real face or anything). The bodies are kept in this pyramid (like summerhill winery!) which is inside a colosseum!! Pompeii was super big too (it's an actual big town), so it took as a while to walk around and go inside all the ancient ruins.
When we got home, I was so relieved to go into the pool. It was soooo refreshing because of the terrifying heat we went through back at Pompeii!! Also you know what was waiting at Villa Ketty;)!!! NUTELLA CAKE!! I just had to have another piece while I sat by the pool. It's sooooooooo TASTYYYY!!!!!!!!!! At Villa Ketty I also did some painting!!! The grandma has a little ceramic studio here, so she lets guests staying here paint a piece of pottery for free as a souvenir! I painted this little plate and put the Italian flag as the background on it and then put the words "Ciao" over that, which is the friendly way of saying hey in Italian! I also painted a red cup to go with the plate!!
After doing some super fun painting, dad and I went back into town to get some snacks and look at the Labyrinth poster!!!!!!!! Unfortunately the poster (the new love of my life) was so, so expensive, we didn't get it...but we could always order it off line (we would need to get it shipped home anyways) if mum allows that! That night we wanted to see the sunset from the villa but when dad and I were in town we realized it was already setting! So I booked it up the long dirt hill to get back to our villa because I knew how stunning it would look from up there. I made it just in the knick of time and managed to see the pink and orange colors fill the sky from our balcony!
For dinner we ordered pizza from the restaurant that the family at our villa owns. Just a normal pizza tonight, no meter long ones...BUT the delivery guy brought it up to us on a little moped!!!! After dinner mum and I watched the first episode of "Bachelor in Paradise" which was so dramatic and funny like always and then I went to bed. Creep it real people-mimirockzzz king Julian
